The Home Video
You've told the story of the beach and the red bucket your whole life. It's your earliest memory. Then someone digs out a family tape and there it is, filmed from the angle you always pictured. You were eighteen months old.
Is it still your memory?
Then ask
- Does knowing where it came from spoil it?
- How much of your childhood do you think you're remembering from photos?
- Would you rather have the tape or the memory you had before?
The classics and some new ones. A scenario, the question it forces, and the follow-ups that make it bite.
