The Five-Year Contract

If your marriage expired tomorrow, would your partner show up to sign?

The Five-Year Contract

Marriage is no longer a lifelong commitment. The law changes tomorrow. All marriages now expire automatically after five years. To stay married, both of you have to go to a courthouse and sign a paper. If one of you stays home, the marriage ends.

If your marriage expired tomorrow, would your partner show up to sign?

Then ask

  • Would you go to the courthouse?
  • How long has it been since you were sure they would sign?

The classics and some new ones. A scenario, the question it forces, and the follow-ups that make it bite.
